PIE partnered with Education Management Solutions (www.simulationIQ.com) in 2016 in order to combine talents to pursue medical simulation contracts. The PIE/EMS team was successful in landing a great project with the Department of Veterans Affairs, where we are helping project manage and draft scenarios for medical simulations at the new VA Hospital in New Orleans. Our scope includes performing scenarios in the inpatient areas prior to the opening of those areas for business. Our combined team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Project Management Professionals (PMPs), and support staff have successfully executed 16 of the 18 work units to date, with the final two departments scheduled for October of this year. The PIE/EMS team also promotes the use of the EMS provided software and hardware for managing a simulation program. The team currently is pursuing another initiative in the Northwest US where we will install and train the facility on the use of the technology for recording and managing scenarios and simulation training. The PIE/EMS relationship continues to be a mutually beneficial arrangement in which the program/project management and SME’s of PIE, coupled with the expertise, software, hardware, and other resources of EMS, creates a very successful team. We look forward to continuing to develop and grow our relationship with EMS.
